Tickets still available for Boulder County Business Report’s Remarkable Women event

BOULDER – Tickets are still available for the Boulder County Business Report’s first Remarkable Women event and special section, honoring outstanding achievements by local businesswomen.

The awards will honor 10 women, and one young girl, in 11 categories. The event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at the Lionsgate Event Center, 1055 S. 112th St. (U.S. Highway 287) in Lafayette. Join the Boulder County Business Report for a night of cocktails, appetizers, networking and awards, and watch for a special section spotlighting the winners in the paper’s April 30 edition.

Judges selected local winners in the following categories:

  • ARTS & CULTURE: Recognizes a woman for outstanding contributions to the arts, either through artistic achievement or support of cultural organizations. Helen Forster, eTown.
  • BEHIND THE SCENES: Recognizes a woman who plays a key role in the success of her employer, even if she lacks an executive title or huge office. Susan Ruh, Rally Software Corp.
  • COMMUNITY: Recognizes a woman who demonstrates a dedicated effort to support the local community through volunteer time, energy and other resources. Diane Stow, Re/Max Traditions Inc.
  • CORPORATE: Recognizes a female executive who has risen in the ranks and established herself in a large corporate environment. Alene A. Campbell, MicroPhage Inc.
  • ENTERPRISE: Recognizes a woman who has demonstrated the core values of entrepreneurship, including risk-taking, innovation and the ability to overcome obstacles. Debi Baydush, BSW Wealth Partners.
  • FAMILY BUSINESS: Recognizes a woman who is contributing to the success of her family-owned enterprise, creating a legacy for future generations. Linda Snyder, Snyder Jewelers.
  • GOVERNMENT & PUBLIC POLICY: Recognizes a woman who has dedicated her career to public service. Dorothy Rupert, Colorado state representative and senator, retired.
  • LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT: Recognizes a woman who has demonstrated a lifetime of accomplishment in her chosen field, and who has leveraged that success to benefit the overall community. Virginia Patterson, business woman, retired and Linnea Simons, attorney, retired.
  • MENTOR: Recognizes an individual who shares her experience, knowledge and insights in an effort to further the careers and lives of others. Teresa Ewing, Boulder Nonlinear Systems.
  • SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY: Recognizes a woman who has launched a business, product or service in the fields of technology, engineering or science. Lucy Sanders, Center for Women & Information Technology.
  • RISING STAR: Recognizes a grade school or high school young woman who has already made a lasting impact either in her school or in the community. Michelle Gaffney.
